Keeping the world in motion since 1933
Founded in 1933, the AAOS is the largest association of musculoskeletal specialists with around 40,000 members. Their mission is to improve the overall quality of orthopaedic care – both treatment and prevention. The AAOS provide the opportunity to use the combined knowledge of thousands of orthopaedic specialists for better patient care. The highly prestigious, peer-reviewed Journal of the AAOS ensures highest quality standards in the distribution of latest research findings. Furthermore, they provide practice management services for physicians. By those means, they continually raise the standards to bring excellence to orthopaedics.
This year’s Annual Meeting of the AAOS is held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, U.S. from 6-10 March. Over 650 companies and 10,000 exhibitors are presenting their research, solutions and products on over 100,000m2. 30,000 attendees make the Annual Meeting of the AAOS the largest orthopaedic meeting in the world.

Now introducing our research overseas
ImageBiopsy Lab will host a poster presentation of our research paper “Combining fractal- and entropy-based bone texture analysis for the prediction of Osteoarthritis: data from the Multicenter Osteoarthritis study (MOST)”. This was conducted by Zsolt Bertalan, Richard Ljuhar, Stefan Nehrer, Davul Ljuhar, Astrid Fahrleitner-Pammer and Hans-Peter Dimai. This group is the joint force of the ImageBiopsy Lab team and research partners. We challenge conventional osteoarthritis (OA) risk analyses by introducing fractal- and entropy-based bone texture analysis. In combination with joint space width and area, our algorithms have shown to be the key for a significantly better OA risk prediction.
